40 Days for Life

Hello, fellow Bloggers. I'm sorry I haven't updated my blog for awhile-I have been super busy. Now that I am finally sitting down to write, there are a couple new things I'd like to share. First of all, a friend and I started a fast today against abortion called "40 Days for Life". When you join this nationwide event, you give up something you love for 40 days and pray everyday. I have never done anything like this before, it's my first time. But I can truthfully say its a challenge worth accepting. I would recommend doing it with a friend so they can hold you accountable and you can also hold them accountable. It keeps you on track. The second thing I'd like to mention is that Obama, in the midst of the contraception mandate backlash, has offered to "compromise",. Notice I put quotation marks. His "compromise" is not much different, if not more offensive. He has offered that instead of church groups having to provide contraception, the insurance companies everywhere will have to. Obama has officially created more controversy. The last thing I need to say is I will update this blog as much as I can, but I think I'll be switching my schedule to 1-2 posts per week or more. Thank you so much for understanding!

You Could Have...But You Didn't

Why is it that every time a teen gets pregnant, she is immediately advised by her family or boyfriend to get rid of the baby? Don't they realize it is now their responsibility? Everyone's actions have consequences. They are lost. They are readily offered a "cure" for their problems. If you are sick, you go to the doctor, if you have a headache, you take an aspirin, if you're hungry, you eat. If you are faced with an unwanted pregnancy, you can kill your baby. Something very interesting was shown to me recently. I found a quote by a president of ours.
"I've noticed that everyone who is for abortion has already been born". -Ronald Reagan
Another quote by Ronald Reagan on the subject of abortion was made in 1982.
"Simple morality dictates that unless and until someone can prove the unborn human is not alive, we must give it the benefit of the doubt and assume it is (alive). And, thus, it should be entitled to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness." - Ronald Reagan 1982
I think it is safe to say that during Reagan's presidency, he was pro life. Today, we are faced with a controversial contraceptive mandate forcing our insurance companies to provide abortive pills and devices. Infringing our rights is just the beginning. Yet, these are just quotes. Merely opinion. But they're true. People who read my posts will know that I think being pro life is caring about the rest of humanity. If we kill off half of the population, who will be the next generation? Who will carry the hopes, dreams and ideals of their parents? To all the teen moms out there who stood up and kept their baby, I salute you. Cause I know it's not easy. But you took that challenge. Whatever your beliefs, you made the right choice. Because of you, your baby will get to experience life. For those of you who are contemplating abortion, I urge you to stop and think how scared you would be if someone took your life just like that. You didn't have a say in the matter. You didn't have rights. You were just flat out murdered. That's a scary thing. Murder is a scary thing.

Coverups, Scandals, Law Breaking, Oh My!

If you visit any Pro Life sites on the Internet, you might notice that they are constantly reporting slip-ups or illegal activity from Planned Parenthood. As you read these, you may be asking, "Why are they still funded if they aren't consistently being a good organization?" Here's why: the world is becoming obsessed with women's rights. So much that they've forgotten the rights of the very humans inside the woman. People are afraid that if they defund Planned Parenthood, 1. There will be an uprising or 2. There will be no more "basic healthcare" for women. I'm no expert, but I can say this: there are thousands of clinics that provide everything from basic healthcare to advanced surgeries. The only thing these centers don't provide are abortions. The end of Planned Parenthood is essentially the end of abortion. The pro choice advocate's response to this idea will typically be shot back immediately: "but Planned Parenthood does these services free of charge, and if Planned Parenthood is defunded, then poor women won't get basic healthcare they need". You may hesitate at that one. Sounds pretty good, right? In actuality, this is a very weak response. You see, there ARE clinics that offer those services free of charge. Neighborhood clinics provide basic healthcare services for the poor. With that remark, their response that seemed so strong is now quickly deflated. There will most certainly be an uprising if Planned Parenthood is defunded, but we need to stand our ground. There will be outrage as there was when Susan G. Komen defunded them.

BREAKING: New Parental Initiative in California

Leaders have proposed a new parental initiative in California. And it's not the good kind. This new initiative will permit a California female no matter how young to request an abortion without a parent or legal guardian having to know about it. This hits home for me because I was born in California. It is becoming more and more clear that Planned Parenthood thinks that parents are the bad guys. I don't blame them. If I were going to make thousands off of an abortion and a parent was going to object to that, I'd be pretty annoyed. Annoyed enough to ensure that young girls can get abortions without parental consent. Now that they're out of the way, I can get more young girls into my clinics and, therefore, make more money. After all, isn't that what women's rights is all about? Live Action has the scoop on this initiative treating a parent's right to know what their child is up to: Californians will try again to submit a parental notification before abortion initiative that they hope to see voters approve next fall. What does this really means? Like about a dozen other states, in California a female no matter how young can request an abortion without her parents having to know about it. This initiative for a Constitutional Amendment, beyond being a pro-life or pro-choice issue, is really pro-parent. Whether you are pro-life or pro-choice, wouldn’t you want to be with your child during this decision process? Some people will argue that there will be girls that will be mistreated when they reveal their pregnancies to their families. In the almost 40 states states with parental notifications, this fear has not been realized. But in any case, the initiative reads: “…Changes California Constitution to prohibit abortion for unemancipated minor until physician notifies her parent/legal guardian in writing. Provides exceptions for medical emergency, parental waiver, or parental abuse documented by notarized statement from law enforcement, protective services, or certain adult relatives. Permits judge to waive notice if minor appears personally in court and proves maturity or waiver is in her best interest. Requires physicians to report specific abortion information to Department of Public Health. Physicians can be sued for violating these provisions up to 12 years after abortion.” The fear-mongering claims from the abortion industry that parental involvement laws will endanger minors has simply not not come to pass when looking at the real-world evidence from other states. In the worst of the cases, such as incest, the minor can go for help, and have the incest reported, and not swept under the rug by a secret abortion and unreported abuse. Because, lest not forget, clinics like Planned Parenthood doesn’t always comply with mandatory reporting laws for statutory rape. For more information visit the Californians for Parental Rights website or Facebook page and sign and/or volunteer to put this initiative in the ballot this November 2012. Kind of pushes the envelope, doesn't it?

Planned Parenthood Center in Iowa Closing

Another victory for life! A Planned Parenthood Center in Iowa is set to close officially on March 1st. Here is a clip from Live Action's blog: Shawn Carney writes on the 40 Days for Life website that the Planned Parenthood facility in Storm Lake, Iowa is due to close on March 1 of this year. The leader of the 40 days for Life campaign there, Sue Theyer, was once manager of the clinic. She had been fired from her clinic in 2008. She claims this was done due to questions she had raised concerning ‘telemed abortions’. An article in the Des Moines Register recently recounted her story. Carney notes that: Just days after that article appeared — and less than three months after Sue finished leading the 40 Days for Life campaign outside the Storm Lake Planned Parenthood — the closure was announced. 40 Days for Life is due to start up again on February 22. You can find information on what locations are participating here. What do you think of this? Do you think that Planned Parenthood is possibly retreating?

All the little children of the world

Today as I sit and write this, I am reminded of how God gives and takes away life. He knows every single hair on your head, your hopes, dreams and fears. I am not ashamed nor remorseful to tell you that I am a Christian. I love Jesus, he is my best friend. Jesus loves all his little children. He created them. That is why it makes him so sad to see his children murdered and thrown away. Abortion is a disgusting, hateful act. And as I write this, I am reminded of the song I sang in church so long ago as a little girl. It goes like this: Jesus loves the little children, all the children of the world. Red and yellow, black and white, they are precious in his sight, Jesus loves all the little children of the world. What a great song. Though I sang it as a child, it still holds great truth to me today. He loves ALL his children. Not some, not the majority, ALL of them. Every single one. Regardless of what you've done, regardless of the poor choices you've made, he loves you. He even loves the abortionists at Planned Parenthood who are so wrongfully deceived. That's why he calls us to defend unborn life. Because he loves every single one and wants them to live. Now, God knows everything. He's not up in heaven, looking down and saying, "gee, I didn't know that was going to happen". He knows everything that is and will be. He knows how our life is planned because he planned it. He knows every single baby that is aborted. Those babies are better off than us because they're in heaven with him. God loves them like their mothers never wanted to or never got to. Even though America was founded on Christian values, we are turning farther and farther away from the very things the country was founded upon. Like the constitution. If Planned Parenthood employees took a look at the Constitution, they would instantly quit their jobs. What happened to equality? What happened to the right of life? Remember when Martin Luther King made his famous "I have a dream" speech? In that speech he said that "all men are created equal". He meant it. Yet, in the 21st century, I assume that Martin Luther King isn't important anymore, judging by the way the government introduced abortion. And judging by the way murder that happens in these clinics, abortion has been rendered a casual event. No jaw drops here, it's been happening for as long as I can remember. We're numb to it because of the frequency. The shock is just so calloused. It's not that we don't care about life, we just don't know if things will ever change. Ever. Will it be the same way when we start our families? Is the government still going to be ignorant to the life being snatched under their noses? Or will they finally realize the murderous acts? Murder is a strong word. I feel strongly about abortion. I honestly think that abortion is essentially murder. It's murder without a doubt. Abortion is murder, and people assume that because the human is smaller than them, it's insignificant, so they start calling it a fetus and saying it doesn't matter because it's just a bundle of cells. They're dead wrong. It's an equal human being. Equal as you and me.

Komen for the Cure Will Keep Funding Planned Parenthood

Today, Susan G. Komen for the Cure released a press statement: We want to apologize to the American public for recent decisions that cast doubt upon our commitment to our mission of saving women’s lives. The events of this week have been deeply unsettling for our supporters, partners and friends and all of us at Susan G. Komen. We have been distressed at the presumption that the changes made to our funding criteria were done for political reasons or to specifically penalize Planned Parenthood. They were not. Our original desire was to fulfill our fiduciary duty to our donors by not funding grant applications made by organizations under investigation. We will amend the criteria to make clear that disqualifying investigations must be criminal and conclusive in nature and not political. That is what is right and fair. Our only goal for our granting process is to support women and families in the fight against breast cancer. Amending our criteria will ensure that politics has no place in our grant process. We will continue to fund existing grants, including those of Planned Parenthood, and preserve their eligibility to apply for future grants, while maintaining the ability of our affiliates to make funding decisions that meet the needs of their communities. It is our hope and we believe it is time for everyone involved to pause, slow down and reflect on how grants can most effectively and directly be administered without controversies that hurt the cause of women. We urge everyone who has participated in this conversation across the country over the last few days to help us move past this issue. We do not want our mission marred or affected by politics – anyone’s politics. Starting this afternoon, we will have calls with our network and key supporters to refocus our attention on our mission and get back to doing our work. We ask for the public’s understanding and patience as we gather our Komen affiliates from around the country to determine how to move forward in the best interests of the women and people we serve. We extend our deepest thanks for the outpouring of support we have received from so many in the past few days and we sincerely hope that these changes will be welcomed by those who have expressed their concern. Is it just me, or is Komen giving in? This is such an honorable organization and they are not standing up for their beliefs and instead just leaning to pressure and giving in? Madness. I can tell you one thing, Susan G. Komen will not be receiving any of my money unless they drop Planned Parenthood for good.

Susan G. Komen Breaks Off Partnership with Planned Parenthood

After many years of supporting abortion giant Planned Parenthood, Susan G. Komen has broken off their partnership with them. In a statement made by Cecile Richards, CEO of Planned Parenthood, Richards expressed concern over Komen's decision saying that it was "hurtful". Here is the complete statement: "It’s hard to understand how an organization with whom we share a mission of saving women’s lives could have bowed to this kind of bullying,” Cecile Richards, president of Planned Parenthood told The Associated Press. “It’s really hurtful.” Now, what kind of hurtful is she talking about? The one where she's sad that she's not going to be endorsed by Susan G. Komen anymore and therefore has less support and profit from taking lives? Cecile Richards is really lost. Another thing that needs clarifying is when she says, "with whom we share the mission of saving women's lives". Saving lives? Susan G. Komen saves lives while Planned Parenthood kills them. I don't understand how their mission is similar to Susan G. Komen's. Notice that Cecile remarks that its shocking that Komen could have "bowed to this kind of bullying". That's simply not true. In fact, Komen denied these claims. Planned Parenthood is trying to tell their supporters that their partner bowed to bullying so that the attention doesn't get drawn to the real reason Komen left them: the investigations. You see, Live Action went into several Planned Parenthoods and filmed a series of undercover videos exposing the lies of Planned Parenthood. The videos prove that what Planned Parenthood alleged as an "isolated incident" really wasn't. In fact, the videos showcase a series of incidents at Planned Parenthoods accross the country. If that doesn't get Planned Parenthood shaking in their boots, I don't know what does. They're afraid that the real reason will come to light: that Susan G. Komen left because they don't want to fund an organization that's being investigated for a series of incidents that where illegal. I congratulate Susan G. Komen on this honorable decision. They'll save more lives by doing this than by supporting the opposite.
